My Imac’s monitor is is a little less bright tonight knowing that the person responsible for it’s creation has passed away today. I have to admit that when I heard the news that Steve Jobs had passed away, it was emotional. Although I never knew him personally I have been fortunate to experience his genius on a daily basis every-time, I read a book, listen to music, type a blog, and surf the net.
Steve Jobs said, “Getting fired from Apple when he was 30 the best thing to ever happen to him. Sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick don’t loose faith. The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
I can almost say for certain that many people go through life by “going through the motions” focusing on things that do not matter, and will not be remembered once you have passed on.
Doing what you love is risky and brings uncertainty, you may fail but if you don’t at least try you will certainty not succeed. If by chance you do fail; do so on a grand scale! You will be in good company.
The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow or love.
Although Steve Jobs is no longer with us, the fruits of his labor will live on for generations. What do you love to do, more importantly when you die what will you leave behind?
Have you heard/read about Jonathan Mak, a 19-year-old designer in Hong Kong who created the Apple Logo Tribute to Steve Jobs:

Nice post!!
Hi Michelle thank you for the comment. I am actually using that tribute as my profile picture on Facebook. The brilliance of Steve Jobs will live on. He was an extraordinary man.
Marc
Marc,
I couldn’t have said this any better myself. I admire people that take that risk, as scary as it may be. It really is the only way to grow as a person.
When my time is up, I have no idea what I’ll leave behind. I just want people to think about my love for family, friends, music and nature and hopefully that will help them feel joy instead of sadness.
Peace,
Renee
Risk is scary but the greatest risk of all is not risking
Peace
Marc, To me its all about people and in Steve’s case he had a vision that helped us all out because he didn’t give up until he made it come true. Our lives are all better today because of his work. Steve influenced and mentored many of the leaders of the tech world and has touched us all through his persistant pursuit of his dreams. We will not be the same without him and we are better now because of him.
To Steve Jobs, dreams, and to courage.
Marc, I trust you are doing well. I’ve seen you tracks all over linked in and hubspot so you’ve got to be making things happen. Hope to talk to you soon.
Hey Joel I agree Jobs was a true visionary. I interact with his genius every day. I am trying to make strides little by little every day. Hope you are well too my friend.
