What does your business and the supernatural have in common?

Ghost hunting has risen in popularity over the last few years with shows like Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventurers. Recently my girlfriend and I had the unique experience of taking our very own ghost tour in Plymouth Massachusetts with Lantern Tours.

I wasn’t sure what to expect and I have to admit I was a little uneasy but also very curious. Our tour guide Tom explained that during the tour we would be learning about the history of Plymouth Massachusetts and spending time at Burial Hill Cemetery which just so happens to be the oldest cemetery in the United States. Let me tell you this place was not only old but looks like it was taken right off of a Hollywood horror movie set.

Our tour lasted about 2 hours  and during that time I took approximately 180 pictures with my trusted Iphone 4. As soon as our adventure ended; I connected my Iphone to my Mac, downloaded all the pictures to Iphoto, and expected to see a bunch of pictures of our tour. What I didn’t expect to see were “ghosts”!  Here are 3 of the images that I caught on film that night.

I have to admit that Kris and I were blown away by the images that showed up on my photos, so much so that I have sent all the images to be analyzed by a forensic photographer for an explanation.

Just like the ghostly images in the photos, if you operate a business you need to make your presence known. If no-one sees your business does it really exist? Of course it does, but for how long? I caught these images on film because Kris and I sought them out.

How do your customers find you?

When potential brand champions finds your business are they blown away, like we were on our tour?

If I visited your business would I leave feeling like I wanted to tell everybody I ran into, or maybe even blog about my experience?

Is your product or service over priced for the service your customers will receive? We paid 12 dollars per person for a kick ass experience.

Do you under promise and over deliver on your service? No promises were made by Tom that we would see anything resembling the supernatural, but I am convinced that I did.

How many brand champions has your business created? I’m not sure How many Lantern Tours has but I know of at least 2  :)

Is your business continually adding innovative products and services? Lantern Tours is now offering a paranormal class

I look forward to your thoughts!

Very compelling pictures. Your comment about it being peaceful rather than spooky just goes to show that you have embraced the idea of the supernatural and it was a positive expereience.

I believe that there are such things as the supernatural and they can be seen as a positive or negative thing depending on what your frame of mind is in.

Very interesting. I’d like to hear more abot your experience.

Pretty spooky looking pictures. I would have been freaked out if it had happened to me. Good points on brand champions too. If we aren’t doing something to distinguish ourselves business wise then customer have to compare products and services on price and that’s not good. If we tell our story right then price is not the only reference point for comparison. Customers with a world view that matches up with our story will become our brand champions.
